MEETING OF THE BELGIUM DELEGATION ON MARCH 16, 2009 AT IMM

A good size delegation from Chamber of Commerce of West- Flanders, Belgium visited IMM on March 16,2009. They included Business Heads from different Corporates. The Delegation was headed by Mr. Paul Breyne, Governor of the Province of West- Flanders. In honour of the delegation, H.E. Mr. Jean M. Deboutte, Ambassador of Belgium to India and Mr. Mathias Bogaert, Economic Counsellor from the Embassy of Belgium in India also joined the Meeting.

The Meeting started with the Welcome Address by Dr. Jagjit Singh, Executive President, IMM. It was followed by presentations on IMM, Indian Economy & Placements by Dr. Pramod Kumar, Dr. A. Nag, Dr. Harjit Singh and Prof. P. Dwivedi respectively. Dr. Pramod Kumar presented the course curriculum and academic activities performed by the Institute. He also described how the Institute develops its students for the Management Career which includes academic inputs, leadership training, soft-skill training, Industry interface and training in enhancing emotional quotient as the most important ingredient in shouldering management responsibilities in a corporate.

Dr. A. Nag and Dr. Harjit Singh presented India's Economic & Business Scenario which included India's GDP growth path, India's past performance & projections for 2008/09, High Growth Sectors, Prominent Indian States to invest in, Foreign direct investment policy of India and India as a country of unity in diversity. The Ambassador of Belgium to India spoke a few words encouraging this initiative of IMM in furthering of Indo-Belgian ties; while Gov. Breyne introduced the delegation to the guests present and thanked the Institute for hosting the delegates and sharing valuable information with them. The Belgium delegation appreciated the role of the Institute and expressed wish for IMM to conduct Market Survey for the Belgium Companies who wish to enter the Indian Market and also to enter into collaboration with the Universities & Business Schools in Belgium.
